안녕하세요!

저는 시스터스 액트 코리아에서 기획, 극본, 촬영을 담당했던 만석동 ‘임시’ 주민입니다.

몇 년 전부터 어머니들과의 협업으로 몇 몇 프로젝트를 여러 곳에서 진행중인 시각 예술 작가이구요, 세계 다른 많은 곳과 같이, 한국 사회의 미래와 희망 역시 여성에게 있다는 가정하 에 프로젝트를 진행 중입니다.그래서 만석동에서도 지나온 질곡 의 현대사를 살아온 한국의 어머니와 누나들에게 이야기를 듣고 배우려 하고 있어요.

그렇게 인천 우리 미술관에 머물게 되면서 만든 영상을 소개드 려요.평소 만석동 주민들이 들려주신 내용으로 대본을 써보았 고, 재연 연기는 함께 밑반찬 만들기수업을 듣는‘누님’들께 서 해 주셨습니다.

현실은 너무나 쓰고, 저의 희망 역시 신기루 일지 모르겠습니다. 하지만 음식을 만들고, 함께 나누는 장소를 만들어 가는 것은 가장 따뜻하고 최고의 ‘지금’이란 생각을 하게 됩니다. 즐겁 게 함께 해 주신 밑반찬 만들기 누님들, 평소 이야기 많이 해 주 신 만석동 주민들, 그리고 훌륭한 아이디어와 헌신으로 작업을 가능케 해 주신 신현진 작가, 정말 고맙습니다.

프로젝트의 길을 열어주신 우리미술관과 인천문화재단 동구청 에도 감사 드립니다.

Dear readers,

Greetings from Gemini Kim,the residency artist at Woori Art Museum in Incheon city, Korea.

It’s been my biggest joy to work on the series of projects about Korean woman in my mum’s age (60s) because I have my sincere hope to learn their lifetime wisdom. Many Korean women in that age have experienced war, violence, social change as a individual female,wife,mother or other various social roles. I could only imagine how deep and wide their stories are.

Living in a village where there was a former Korean War refugee town, I had to confront my father’s past who is a north Korean war refugee. Sadly, this village is still struggling with its poor condition and not very pleasant images on media reports. Collaborating with Aletheia, we brought a little tiny tip of present Manseok area and local people’s thinking. We may not show many history here but this time ‘sisters’ in their 50’s from local cooking class will speak out village people’s memories and others. The hope is to expand our idea to other communities in other world. And yes, it is fictitious work but based on interviews with local people.
